The department has always been an active participant is fostering the needs of various industries, research and development laboratories. The department tries to maintain the high quality of teaching standard through continuous improvement in teaching.

Faculty members recognize the changing needs of the society through research projects and industry institute interaction. Faculty members are encouraged to conduct consultancy work in the fields of efficient utilization of electrical energy, generation, and cost-effective systems.

The department has latest facilities such as Electrical Energy Utilization Lab., Drives Lab., Advanced Control Systems Lab. and is equipped with MATLAB including the Toolboxes such as Power System Block Set, Genetic Algorithms, Neural Networks, Control Systems Block Set and Fuzzy Logic, PSCAD/EMTDC, E-TAP and LABVIEW.
