Professional Activities

1. The student members of IEEE Student Branch represented the college and the branch at the 10th All India Students Congress organized by IEEE India Council, held at Mumbai.

1.  IEEE Student Branch, under IT Dept. at Bharati Vidyapeeth’s College of Engineering is a student organization under the aegis of IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers). The branch organizes and participates in various engineering events at under-graduate level. The Women in Engineering (WiE) Affinity Group of the branch organized its annual WiE Meet in Sept. 2010. The student members also attended 3 IEEE Delhi Section Quarterly Meets held at PEC (Chandigarh), BKBIET (Pilani) & DTU (Delhi). The branch organized the Inter College Vikram Sarabhai Quiz Competition in September 2010.

1. National Students’ Symposium on various technical topics is organized every year during the annual festival. It is a Technical Paper Presentation Contest open to all undergraduate engineering students across the country. The theme of the event in 2010 was Green Technologies.     

Conducted Technical Paper Presentation on e-Governance & IT Applications in Public Domain on 17th of February,2011.  It was sponsored by Department of Information Technology, Ministry of Communication & Information Technology, Govt. of India.
                 

1. The quarterly e-journal Pratibimb, of the IEEE Student Branch is managed and published by student members and it includes technical and scientific articles. In March 2010, an offline mega issue of the journal was released in print format as a souvenir of the Fest.

     National Level Proceedings on Technical Paper Presentation was published on e-Governance & IT Applications in Public Domain on 17th of February,2011.
                                                                                                                    
National Business Plan Contest is an annual event held during Fervour, Annual Technical Festival of IEEE Student Branch of the college. It invites business plans from all over the country, giving an opportunity to promote entrepreneurship in the youth. The competition is open to all students (undergraduate and postgraduate) across the country. (Grant received from NSTEDB, DST, and Govt. of India).                                                 Entrepreneurship Cell arranged Information Lecture on Entrepreneurship on December 2010 by FITT.

1. Dr. Vanita Jain, HOD (IT Dept.) published a paper titled Stabilization of a class of even order time variant systems, International Journal of Modelling & Simulation, ACTA Press, Canada 2010.

Mr. Akshay Gupta, student member if IEEE Student Branch, BVCOE published a technical paper titled Synthesis & Performance of Recurrent Fuzzy Multilayer Perceptron for Speech Recognition International Conference on Methods and Models in Computer Science (ICM2CS), 2010.

Recipient of Awards from IEEE as per the following:
The IEEE Student Branch received the internationally acclaimed Darrel Chong Bronze Student Activity Award from the IEEE Headquarters under the IEEE Region 10 category for the academic year 2009-2010.
Mr. Ankit Ahuja received Dr. J. K. Pal Memorial Award 2009-2010 (IEEE Delhi Section)

Grant of Rs 100,000/- received from Department of Information Technology, Ministry of Communication & Information Technology, Govt. of India.
 for Technical Paper Presentation, in our National Level Technical  Festival INFINITY,2011
- Grant of Rs. 50,000/- received from TCS , New Delhi.
- Grant of Rs. 5,000/- from ISTE For Technical Festival INFINITY, 2011.

Departmental Achievements

1. Successfully conducted National Technical Festival INFINITY, 2011 on 17th & 18th February ,2011.
2. One faculty member is pursuing M.E. / M.Tech.
3. Seven students got selected for Microsoft live project on Multipoint Technology after undergoing tough evaluation exam.
4. Our college has become Nodal Centre for Virtual Labs by effort of ECE, IT & ICE Department in collaboration with IIT Delhi.
5. Mr. Prem Singh is being awarded “Outstanding Student Volunteer Award 2010” for contribution towards IEEE student activities at student branch and section level.

Distinguished Alumni

We have an alumni association in the college. The number of seven batches have already gone and the Association of college maintains contacts with all the alumni through the Link Magazine published yearly and upgraded annually in the Annual General Meeting.  Our Alumni have now attained quite senior position in Industries and Education.  We are now thinking of instituting an Alumni Award.
